About Vikings

Vikings Water Polo Inc. was established in 2020 with the aim to provide high quality training and participation opportunities for players transitioning from junior levels and school programs. Recognising the growing demand for water polo in the region, we expanded in 2022 to include junior participation with the launch of our Little Vikings program. This initiative was met with enthusiastic support from the surrounding communities.

Since then, Vikings has rapidly become one of Queensland's fastest growing junior clubs and boasts one of the largest senior member bases in the state. Our commitment to developing the sport extends beyond players; we've implemented a comprehensive pathway and education program for referees and coaches, led by Ash Kaesler and Andrew Carney World Aquatics international referees.

Our Junior Vikings and Junior Development Programs are in high demand, consistently selling out and attracting waitlists. The 2024 off-season program saw nearly 100 participants, reflecting our club’s significant commitment to growth and the community's passion for water polo.

In the 2023 Premier League season, our senior teams showcased their prowess, with the Men’s team securing 3rd place and the Women’s team achieving 2nd place. In May 2024 Abby Andrews and Gabi Palm became two-time olympians and in the process created history for the club becoming Vikings first Olympians in Paris going on to achieve a silver medal for Australia.

At Brisbane Vikings, we are dedicated to fostering talent at all levels and creating a thriving, inclusive community for water polo enthusiasts.
